may register for and participate in ATC/SCJTL/SCTEF tennis services, programs and events.

All Risk Waiver:
I acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that my child(ren) and I may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 by registering and attending Suffolk County Tennis & Education Foundation (SCTEF)/ Arias Tennis Corp. (ATC)/ Suffolk County Junior Tennis League (SCJTL) Programs and Events, and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death. I understand that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 at the SCTEF/ATC/SCJTL Programs and Events may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of myself and others, including, but not limited to, SCTEF/ATC/SCJTL Program and Event employees, volunteers, and program participants and their families.
I voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risks and accept sole responsibility for any injury to my child(ren) or myself (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind, that I or my child(ren) may experience or incur in connection with my child(ren)’s attendance at the SCTEF/ATC/SCJTL Programs and Events or participation in SCTEF/ATC/SCJTL Programs and Events (“Claims”).
On my behalf, and on behalf of my children, I hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless the SCTEF/ATC/SCJTL, its employees, agents, and representatives, of and from the Claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating thereto. I understand and agree that this release includes any Claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of the Club, its employees, agents, and representatives, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in any SCTEF/ATC/SCJTL Programs and Events.
RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT FOR ALL SCTEF/ATC/SCJTL events, programs and locations.
IN CONSIDERATION of being permitted to participate in any way in the EVENT(S), ATC/SCJTL Members who register thru the ATC/SCJTL Member registration system, for him/herself, his/her personal representatives, heirs, and next of kin:
- HEREBY RELEASES, WAIVES, DISCHARGES AND COVENANTS NOT TO SUE the Suffolk County Tennis & Education Foundation (SCTEF), Arias Tennis Corp.(ATC), Suffolk County Junior tennis League (SCJTL), and all of their directors, officers, agents, volunteers and employees, (hereinafter referred to as “Releasees”) FROM ALL LIABILITY TO THE UNDERSIGNED, his/her personal representatives, assigns, heirs and next of kin FOR ANY AND ALL LOSS OR DAMAGE, AND ANY CLAIM OR DEMANDS THEREFORE ON ACCOUNT OF INJURY AND/OR EXPOSURE TO INFECTIOUS SYNDROMES OR DISEASES TO THE PERSON OR PROPERTY OR RESULTING IN ILLNESS AND/OR DEATH OF THE UNDERSIGNED ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE EVENT(S), WHETHER CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE. BY PARTICIPATING OR ATTENDING THIS EVENT YOU ASSUME ALL RISKS WHETHER KNOW OR UNKNOWN.
- HEREBY AGREES TO INDEMNIFY AND SAVE AND HOLD HARMLESS the Releasees and each of them FROM ANY LOSS, LIABILITY, DAMAGE, OR COST they may incur arising out of or related to the EVENT(S) WHETHER CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES or otherwise.
- HEREBY acknowledges that THE ACTIVITIES OF THE EVENT(S) MAY BE DANGEROUS and involve risks including but not limited to exposure to infectious syndromes and diseases, serious illness, injury and/or death and/or property damage and he/she ASSUMES FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY RISK WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO BODILY INJURY, EXPOSURE, DEATH OR PROPERTY DAMAGE arising out of or related to the EVENT(S) whether caused by the NEGLIGENCE OF RELEASEES or otherwise.
- HEREBY grants to the Releasees (and grants to the Releasees the right to grant to others), as well as their successors and assigns, in perpetuity, the irrevocable right (but not the obligation), with or without my knowledge, to film, tape, photograph, record, exhibit, edit, alter, copy, reproduce, license, sell, rent, disclose, display, publish, distribute, broadcast, webcast, prepare derivative works from or otherwise preserve, use and/or exploit in any format and/or manner now known or hereafter developed, whether commercial or non-commercial in nature (collectively, the “Use and Materials”): (1) my appearance at and/or participation in the Event; (2) my name, likeness, signature, voice, singing voice, conversation, sounds, biographical data, testimonials, and/or any other information or material secured by the Releasees in connection with my appearance at and/or participation in the Event. I agree that Releasees shall have the right to the Use and Materials, for their own account, throughout the universe and in perpetuity. I acknowledge and agree that I shall not be entitled to receive any compensation whatsoever in connection with the Releasees’ exercise of its Use and Materials rights.
BY REGISTERING FOR SCTEF/ATC/SCJTL PROGRAMS, OF MY OWN FREE WILL, I ACKNOWLEDGE TO HAVE READ THIS RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF ALL RISK, AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY REGISTEREING , AND COMPLETED THE REGISTRATION PROCESS FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT, ASSURANCE OR GUARANTEE BEING MADE TO ME AND INTEND MY ENROLLMENT AND PAYMENT TO BE A COMPLETE AND UNCONDITIONAL RELEASE OF ALL LIABILITY TO THE GREATEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW.
PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT (IF UNDER THE AGE OF 18)
I represent and warrant that I am the parent or legal guardian of, Player(s) under 18 years of age listed in my SCJTL Member account the foregoing Release (“Minor”) and that I have received, read, and understood the foregoing Release and Waiver. I fully consent to and voluntarily authorize the Minor to execute said Release and Waiver (or, if applicable, have voluntarily executed said Release and Waiver on Minor’s behalf). I acknowledge and agree that all representations, consents, agreements, grants, waivers, authorizations, indemnifications and releases herein shall be regarded as made by me on behalf of the Minor and shall be binding on me and the Minor.
Furthermore, in consideration of Releasees possibly including me and/or Minor in the Event, I hereby agree to be bound by and to perform all of the terms and conditions of the foregoing Release and Waiver (including, without limitation, the provisions regarding release of all claims), as such terms and conditions may relate to my participation and/or the participation of the Minor in the Event, if any.
Terms of Participation Agreement and Risk Waiver:
As parent or legal guardian of the above participant, YOU hereby give permission for YOUR child to participate in this Suffolk County Junior Tennis League (SCJTL) program and agree to comply with all program regulations including the furnishing of the SCJTL with appropriate medical exams and records of immunization when requested.
In case of accident or injury and emergency contact person cannot be reached, YOU grant SCJTL permission to obtain medical attention for YOUR child if necessary, for which YOU will be financially responsible.
YOU hereby release SCJTL, the staff and management of Arias Tennis/SCJTL programs, school districts and sponsoring organizations from any responsibility for bodily injury, property damage or theft of personal property that may occur while involved in this program on or off the SCJTL program sites. This release applies individually and jointly with other campers, friends or family members.
- SCJTL reserves the right to dismiss any student whose conduct is deemed by SCJTL to be detrimental to other participants, SCJTL staff, or to the SCJTL program.
- YOU further understand that SCJTL retains the right to any photographs or video taken at the program site to be used publicly or advertising. SCJTL is not responsible for lost or stolen property; I agree to label all of YOUR child's possessions.
SCTEF/ SCJTL/ ATC has developed and taken enhanced health and safety protocols and measures to establish SAFE Practices - for program participants, attending family and friends and Staff Members. All SCJTL registered players, parents, guardians, attending family and friends must follow all instructions, posted or verbal while attending SCTEF/ SCJTL/ATC Programs and Events.
Only ATC/SCJTL Members who have registered online and have agreed to all SCTEF/ SCJTL/ATC Programs and Events Terms of Participation and All Risk Waivers will be allowed on any SCTEF/ SCJTL/ATC Programs and Events tennis courts facility unless requested by SCTEF/ SCJTL/ATC Programs and Events Staff.
By registering and attending SCTEF/ SCJTL/ATC Programs and Events, you and all Players registered thru your ATC/SCJTL Member Site agree to all SCTEF/SCJTL/ATC Terms of Participation, current and updated,accept all Waivers, and voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
As an SCJTL Member Parent/ Guardian/ Captain, you also consent to allowing the scanning of temperature of any and all Player(s) registered for and attending SCTEF/ SCJTL/ATC Programs and Events daily or weekly sessions at all SCTEF/ATC/SCJTL Program Sites by designated ATC/SCJTL Site Director(s) and confirm before attending any daily or weekly session, any Player(s) registered are not presenting any of the following symptoms of COVID-19 including: Fever, Shortness of Breath, Dry Cough, Runny Nose, Loss of Taste, Sore Throat, or any condition(s) discovered and not mentioned or in the future.
As a precondition to attending any SCTEF/ SCJTL/ATC Programs and Events daily or weekly sessions, it is required that you attest that no Player(s) within the past 14 days has travelled in a commercial airline, been in close proximity (less than 6 feet proximity) at a gathering of 10 or more persons, or have had close contact with a person who has confirmed positive or suspected to be positive for COVID-19.

ATC/SCJTL Members:
Parent, Guardian, or Team Captain who has accepted the Terms of Service and voluntarily by Online LOGIN or Mail-in registration methods:
Enter names and contact information for the purpose of registering themselves or others under their account.
Are responsible for payment and all matters relating to Players registered in their SCJTL member account.
PLAYER(S)
Is/are everyone, including the SCJTL Member Parent, Guardian, or Team Captain, entered in the SCJTL Member account for the purpose of registering and participation in ATC/SCJTL/SCTEF programs and events.
All Players listed in SCJTL Member account are included to agree and accept all terms as indicated by the Parent, Guardian,Team Captain.
PLAYER(S) defined:
Jr. Player(s): (Child(ren), under the age of 18.
Player(s): Adults 18 and older.
SCTEF/ATC/SCJTL SAFE PRACTICES
SCTEF/ATC/SCJTL SAFE Practices
To ensure a safe and responsible return to tennis programs, the Suffolk County Tennis & Education Foundation (SCTEF) has developed SAFE Practices to be adopted and followed by Arias Tennis Corp.(ATC) and SCJTL programs:

- Safety First:
- ATC/SCJTL priorities safety over all.
Our commitment is strong and detailed. It has taken a lot of time to do the right research and inform SCJTL members.
Everyone on SCJTL courts will be doing their best to follow protocols and cooperate. We ask everyone's patience and support during this time and process.
Only ATC/SCJTL Members who have read and accepted ATC/SCJTL Terms of service will be allowed to register for programs. - All Players and Parents/Friends dropping off and/or waiting are required to wear face-coverings during the session.
- Parents/Friends Parents will be asked to wait in designated area until the Check-in procedure is completed.
- ATC/SCJTL registered Players will undergo a pre and post session protocols in order to assure the safest environment for all players:
- Pre-session:
- Player will be check-in one at a time by the Site Director:
- Health check-in:
- Players will be asked how they feel and if they’have felt the same before arriving.
- A no-touch thermal scan will be conducted to measure the Player’s temperature.
- Any temperature over 100.4 will result in the Player’s parent/ friend to return home.
- Any Player returning home will be required to follow absence policies according the ATC/SCJTL Terms of Participation.
- Post-session:
- Play will end within 10 minutes of session end time for:
- Session review and cool down.
- Hand sanitizing before leaving the tennis courts.
- Parents/Friends picking up are required to greet their Player at the designated drop off/waiting/pick-up area. No Players will be allowed to meet their ride at the car in the parking lot.
- Staff Training and Support:
- ATC/SCJTL Coaching and program staff are required to be USTA Net Generation Safe Play Certified and trained in order ATC/SCJTL training methods and SAFE Practice protocols.
- ATC/SCJTL is committed to supporting our valuable staff, by providing policies, training, guidance, tennis training and PPE equipment, in order to safely perform their responsibilities.
- All Staff members are required to go thru and pass a Health Check Protocol that includes:
- Staff will be asked how they feel and if they’have felt the same before arriving.
- A no-touch thermal scan will be conducted to measure the Staff member’s temperature.
- Any temperature over 100.4 will result in the Staff Member to return home.
- Any Staff member returning home will be required to follow absence policies according the ATC/SCJTL Terms of Employment.
- Activities and Area Management:
- Activities:
- ATC/SCJTL will conduct live ball, activity based drills and games. There will no line-feeding. SCJTL programs have done this since 2006 as one of the first programs in the US and the only and best tennis program.
- A pre-play SAFE Practice routine will be conducted at the start of every session. An end of session cool-down/ review, including hand sanitizing before leaving the court, will be conducted while area sanitizing is performed for following session. It is expected this routine to take 2 to 3 minutes once everyone is checked in. It may take longer at first. Parents/ friends are asked to be patient and allow these protocols to be conducted properly.
- ATC/ SCJTL program sites will follow an Area Management protocol and procedures:
- Sessions will be limited to follow Social Distancing Guidelines determined by USTA, CDC, State and SCTEF/ATC/SCJTL research and experience.
- Only program Players will be allowed on the tennis courts. Parents and friends will be asked to wait outside the tennis courts:
- Wearing face coverings.
- Following socials distancing of at least 6 feet away from non-family members.
- Drop-off/ Check-in Area: Players will be escorted to an area designated to be no closer than 7 feet to the Site Director and allowed to walk the remaining distance to be checked in. At the end of the session, Players will walk to their family/friend waiting in the designated area.
- Area Sanitizing:
- Tennis court sanitizing procedure will be performed by ATC/SCJTL staff before every session.
- Before first session: ATC/SCJTL staff will arrive before the start of the first session of the day in order to perform area sanitizing procedures and player chick-in.
- Sessions will be expected to end with-in 10 minutes before scheduled time for this to be done before any following session.
Players will go thru a session closing routine which will include hand sanitizing before leaving the tennis courts.
- Family and Friend Responsibilities:
It is important family and friends of Players be informed of and help support safe and responsible tennis programming as per the following guidelines: - Player PPE: Players will be required to provide the following:
- Proper size Tennis racquets, shoes, clothing, water, and personal protection equipment:
- Face mask or covering:
Player will not play with mask over their faces. Instead they may be asked to wear them around their neck and instructed to cover up when they get close (within 7 feet) to ATC/SCJTL Staff and other players. - Gloves: ATC/SCJTL is requiring Players bring a pair of gloves:
- Wear at least one (1) glove on their non-dominant hand during the entire session.
- Wear both gloves during any send/receive ball activities.
- Bag, backpack for carrying and storing all possessions:
- All Player items, including tennis racquets must be labeled with Player’s full name to avoid any accidental equipment sharing.
- ATC/SCJTLPPE Pak:
- As a service, a PPE Pak will be available in limited quantities for purchase:
- Included: 2 face masks + 1 pair of white glove in a zip lock bag.
- May be purchased online included with registration (best way) or at the SITE thru the Site Director (limited supply, cash for exact amount (no change given)).
- In the event a Player shows up accidentally without a face mask or gloves, a PPE Pak (full pack, no pieces) will be provided in order for the Player to participate in that session.
- Family health management:
- Parents/Guardian are asked to assure your Player(s) are healthy before attending any session:
- Ensuring Player has no symptoms or temperature issues as described by the CD and State health guidelines.
- Willing, to not attend that day’s session should there be any questions about the Player’s health.
- Inform SCJTL of the Players absence and reason for the absence as it relates to ATC/SCJTL guidelines.
- A Doctor’s note clearance to play will be required before Player can return to any ATC/SCJTL program.
- In the event of Player absence due to health:
- Any player absents due to any COVID-19 related or possible diagnose will be asked not to return for at least 14-days from day of diagnosed and only with a Doctor’s note submitted to ATC before attending
- Player’s registration will be cancelled, pro-rated according to program Flex-Reg price rate, and left as a credit until the program is completed. Any credit will be refunded if not used by the end of the program unless the Parent asks to keep on account.
- Personal Equipment:
Players will need to provide the following personal equipment: - To avoid accidental sharing, Players are required to have their full name clearly written on every item brought.
- Age specific tennis racquet.
- Red (7-8yo): 21” to 23”
- Orange: (9-10yo): 25”
- Green, Yellow: 27” (full size)
- Clothing
- Shirts, shorts, sneakers (no sandals or flip flops)
- Personal safety pack:
- Gloves
- 1 pair
- Light weight
- Face covering
- Face mask, gaiters.
Player will not play with mask over their faces. Instead they may be asked to wear them around their neck and instructed to cover up when they get close (within 7 feet) to ATC/SCJTL Staff and other players.

- Water, sunscreen and anything personally required.
- Players may bring their own sanitizer.
Supply will be readily available and used directly on hand and on gloves, during check-in, check-out, and throughout the session. - Bag, drawstring or regular backpack, with full name clearly written for easy identification.
- As a service, supplies may be available in limited quantities for purchase at a modest price, online and at the site. Payments may be made online during registration or at site for exact amount (no change will be available or transacted).
- Equipment Management Protocols will be followed:
- The Ball: Considered “shared equipment”, to date, no research or scientific study has been conducted anywhere in the tennis industry or outside to determine actual effects of virus transmission. At this time, SCTEF has taken steps to provide actual research by the USTA and other researchers, in order to provide proper guidance regarding this important factor in tennis.
ATC/SCJTL tennis ball protocols will include the following: - Meet and exceed USTA Guideline for Playing Tennis Safely for programs.
- Only ATC/SCJTL tennis balls will be used during the program session.
- ATC/SCJTL tennis balls will be stored in a ventilated bag to be used for only ONE session per day.
- After every session tennis balls will be returned to the same storage bag:
- Tennis balls will be sanitized and clipped to the fence for sun exposure until the day’s sessions are completed.
- As an added precaution, tennis balls will be sanitized using an ultra-violet wand after returned to the Site equipment bag by the Site Director.
- Tennis balls will be limited to the needs of each “live ball” activity.
- Tennis balls hit outside the tennis courts will be place in separate ventilated storage bag for sanitizing and use for later sessions.
CDC Guidelines
ATC/SCJTL REFUND POLICIES
Credit Card Refund Fee:
All credit card and PayPal refunds on customer cancelled registrations and double and/or accidental payments will be subject 3% refund fee to offset transaction fees not refunded by the credit card merchant.
ATC/SCJTL Returned Check Policy and Fees.
Checks returned may be re-deposited after contact and instructions from writer. A fee of $25 is charged for the first return.
$35 fee for each check returned thereafter.
ATC/SCJTL Lesson, Programs, and Workshops
No refunds or credit for absence.
$10 service charge for all cancellations made within 24 hours before the program/workshop start.
Online registrations not paid after first week of program will be automatically cancelled.
Cancellation policies and charges will apply. Any charges will remain on the account until paid.
SCJTL Summer Tennis League
Absence Policy: NO MAKE-UPS OR REFUNDS FOR ABSENCE. This includes make-ups for cancelled sessions.
$10 charge for all cancellations. Refund less service charge on cancellations made before registered start date.
Cancellations made after program start will be adjusted according to the weekly rate equal to the number of weeks attended plus service charge.
Online registrations not paid after first week of program will be automatically cancelled.
Cancellation policies and charges will apply. Any charges will remain on the account until paid.
Half weeks are counted as full week.
No refunds, credits or adjustments on absence claims after next to last week (session) of the program.
Performance|Competition Training \Team
No refunds for absence or cancellations within 5 days of program date.
$10 service charge for all cancellations.
No refund of Program/Team fees.
Online registrations not paid after first week of program will be automatically cancelled. Cancellation policies and charges will apply. Any charges will remain on the account until paid.
Refunds or credits will be issued for anyone whose session was cancelled due to the weather and cannot attend the make-up.
The amount of refund will be based on the registration rate per session and for the number of cancelled sessions less the program make-up if attended.
Credits may be applied to other SCJTL programs.
SCJTL Challenge Series
No refunds for absence or cancellations within 3 days of tournament date.
Competition Tennis Camps
No refunds or adjustments for absence.
20% service charge for all cancellations before June 20.
No refunds for cancellations made after June 21. No refunds for no shows to rain make-ups.
ATC/SCJTL WEATHER CANCELLATION AND MAKE-UP POLICIES

Weather related cancellations and Make-ups:
High Heat Alerts:
SCJTL sites do not cancel due to High Heat Alerts. The pace of all activities will be slowed to a pace less taxing than the regular schedule. Participants are encourage to bring extra fluids and plan to take frequent breaks.
Rain:
Every effort is made to determine whether or not to cancel a site due to rain. SCJTL does not call program participants regarding rescheduling due to weather cancellations.

SCJTL recommends checking the announcement web site and SCJTL Program Line before leaving for any program.
PROGRAM CANCELLATIONS AND MAKE-UPS:
SCJTL Summer Tennis League Cxl/Make-ups
All cancellations will be determined by 2:30 PM of that day. Make-ups are made up on Fridays or by adding time to the available session.
Date set by SCJTL Site Director based on the amount of players and courts availability of each site.
Sessions cancelled due to rain after they have started will not be made up:
Green Division = 30 minutes
Red, White & Blue = 45 minutes
Extension of program for 1 week for make-ups is an option, after which no make-ups will be made.
Performance|Competition Training Cxl/Make-ups
Session cancellation policy: Sessions more than 1 session cancelled will be credited at end of program.
All cancellations will be determined by 1-1/2 hours before start of session.
Sessions cancelled after 1-1/2 start are considered to be completed.
High Performance Performance Cxl/Make-ups
All cancellations will be determined by 2 hours before program start time. Make-ups are made up by adding sessions or time to the available session.
Sessions cancelled due to rain after they have started will not be made up after 45 minutes
Extension of program for make-ups is an option. Session not made-up will be refunded at the registration rate.
