THE SEASON
League Size per League
Minimum = 4 teams - Maximum = 8 teams
- Season Length based on number of teams registered.
- Teams season will consist of Competition matches and 1 Play-Off Match.
- ODD number of teams will have BYE Week.
BYE Team may use court for practice during off week.
- Teams from one league with less than 3 or less teams may be offered combining with league with 4+ teams if open.
- Teams with 4 up to 6 in League offered options for mini season play (not to surpassed larger league) after original season

THE MATCH
All Matches play Sundays - 6pm to 8:30 pm
- All Starting Players attend to play schedule team.
Alternates may attend and play for Player they are filling for.
- Match Format/Schedule
- 1 No-Ad Set (12pt. TB 6/6).
Match order:
Gs/1s - Bs/2s - Gd/1d - Bd/2d - Mxd/3d
(G=Girls, B=Boys, s=Singles, d=Doubles, Mx=Mixed)
- Match Score = 1 point per match
- Match Outcomes = 5-0, 4-1, 3-2
- Team Results/Placement recorded in Wins/Losses
Ties settled by Head to Head.
- Results posted on Varsity League web site.

LEAGUE LOGISTICS
League Coordinator - Each League will have a League Coordinator on site. League Coordinator is empowered to handle all issues and make decision necessary for each League and site.
- Team Check-in.
Match/Court Assignment.
Scorecard distribution.
- Monitor time and On-Court traffic flow.
- Monitor/Enforce rules - Settle all issues.
- Collect team score cards for League Report

CAPTAINS RESPONSIBILITIES
Captains may register team to organize at anytime.
- Responsible for team registration.
- Attend Captians meeting scheduled for Sunday, December 8, 2013 at 6:30pm, at each league location to review schedules and rules.
- Communicate schedules, rules, match line-up and format structure to all members of the team.
- Responsible for all issues pertain to team and Varsity League operations.
- Only team member to communicate with League Coordinator and Commissioner regarding any issues.
- May assign co-captian to assist with team operations.
All Team Captains awarded "Certificate of Leadership" for organizing and managing Varsity League team.

TEAM NAMES, SHIRTS/BANNERS, ACCESSSORIES
Team shirts, banners, and accessories optional for Season 1.
- Team Banners may be displayed on tennis net or courts curtain subject to approval by Sportime and League Commissioner.
- League Logo must appear on all team accessories and approved by League Commissioner.
- Team Names , apparel, and accessories subject to approval by League Commissioner.

SPORTIME KINGS PARK BENEFITS TO HS VARSITY LEAGUE MEMBERS
For registered players and alternates in the SC Varsity tennis league during the Varsity League season.
· Friday drill session with staff pro – 7pm to 9pm - $20 – min 6 players. Added courts with more players as needed. –
No membership required.
· Sat- Jr. members team practice walk on privileged for registered team members and alternates.
Walk-on court time may be reserved up to 2 hours before courts availability.
Call 631-269-6300. Tell desk staff you are a members of the Suffolk County High School League, or Joe Arias high school League.
Please let me know if you have any difficulties reserving a court.
· One free Dev. Elite group trial – free – contact Jeff Morys (Sportime Director of Tennis).
· No initiation fee for players who sign up for Sportime membership. - $100 savings

TEAM FEES AND PAYMENT
8 Player Team: $150 per Player
Alternate Processing fee: $5
Any compensation for Alternate fill-in handled among the team/players involved.
That's it. No other fees.
Payment
- Online Registration required.
- Outside Payments applied to team fee.
- Players calculate split among team after any payments from Booster Club/School/Coach.

MATCH TIME
Session Time = 2 1/2 hrs
- Each match time allotted up to 30 Minutes/Match
Completed or not - includes 3 min warm-up.
- Matches may be completed in less than 30 min.
Following matches are to play immediately after.
- Match not completed in 30 minute time frame considered "Incomplete".
- Incomplete matches settled by set score -
If tie: Game Score.
Ties remain in place as TIE Match.
- TIE Matches- may be settled (played to complete) using remaining accumulated time.
- TIE Matches settled in the order they were played.

THE EVENT
Only registered starting team players and Alternates allowed to participate in match.
- All players must complete Sportime Liability Waiver.
- 1 court per Team Match
- Only Active Players, Team Captain - and Next Match On allowed ON-Court. All other team member remain off court in lobby or designated areas.
- Coaching by Team Captain/Next Match players (only) allowed on change over.
- Participation on premises by tennis pros/instructors, school tennis coaches, "not allowed in any way".
All issues referring to league and teams and rules addressed by the Team Captain only!

LEAGUE AND SITE RULES
Rules supervised and enforced at each site by League Coordinator and League Commissioner.
- Rules of Tennis - Code of Conduct - Sportsmanship - Sportime Facility - Site time and traffic flow observed.
- "0" tolerance for disruptive behavior, interference, and unsportsmanlike behavior. NO refund for players and/or teams dismissed due to bad behavior.
- League Commissioner may override any team operations and behavior deemed disruptive to the operations, format, philosophy, and objectives of The Varsity League.

- How do I form a Team?
a. Contact your teammates/friends who play tennis.
b. Ask if they want to play.
c. Register your team as a Captain.
d. Get the rest of your team to register.
- How do I find players for my team?
Ask:
a. Tennis Coach.
b. Tennis pro/instructor.
c. Ask your parents to help.
- What if I have only boys or girls?
If you have 8 players, you can still form a team. We will try gender neutral this first year. You can always look for Alternate players once the season starts.
- Does everyone on the team have to play for the same school?
No.
- I want to play but don't know anyone.
We'll try to match you up with one.

b. Include current Varsity school team, position and experience.
- What happens if a player does not show up for their match?
That Match is forfeit. Player can play an exhibition match (doesn't count) in it's place. Having Alternates that can fill in is recommended.
- Can the season be extended if the are only 4 teams?
Yes. Only one time. That can be decided once the firs season starts.
